This is How You Should Be Applying Skincare

Posted on

There are many things one usually has to keep in mind, this is why we are always looking to make those things we do every day easier, especially if they don´t require a whole lot of thinking and are not specifically decisive. With so many skin care options, your daily routine can get overwhelming. Figuring out how the right order you should apply your products might be incredibly complex, so we decided to help you create a healthier, easier and better routine.

A rule of thumb when layering your skincare products is that you should do it from thin to thick; moisturizer should be last because of its density. You should also consider how effective you want them to be; you may want to apply your acne treatment before the moisturizer so it is more effective.

Getting Ready for the Day

  1. Cleanser

One of the first things you should do after waking up is to apply cleanser gently. You don’t need to clean it thoroughly so you may just splash it away.

  2. Toner

A cleanser´s effectiveness is limited. Being that, using a toner may be a good way to make sure you remove all dirt and oils from your face. Avoid cleansers that contain alcohol.

  3. Serum

Let´s focus solving your problem areas. Serums can help you with uneven skin tones, fine lines and more.

  4. Moisturizer

You should use moisturizer regardless of your type of skin.

  5. Eye Cream

Using an eye cream after applying moisturizer will help you since the skin around your eyes is different from the rest of the face and it will help you combat fine lines, this is true for all types of skin.

Getting Ready for Sleeping

  1. Cleanse

Just as you did in the morning, apply a stronger cleanser that can help you clean the dirt from the day.

  2. Toner

A toner is especially important during the night because it will help you get rid of the impurities of the day.

  3. Acne Treatment

You should always apply your acne treatment just after cleansing your skin.

  4. Serum

Wait until your treatment dries and later add serum.

  5. Night Cream

Apply your night cream. Night creams are different to moisturizers in the way that they absorb into the skin and how hydrating they can be.

  6. Eye Cream

Do the same you did in the morning.

  7. Facial Oil

This is recommended for people with dry skin. Apply it gently on your skin. Face oils can help improve the overall state of your skin.
