This is How you Should Apply Perfume

how to layer perfumes and fragrances

Many times, the most popular fragrance bottles are huge glass elegant sculptures, sometimes as intricate as pieces of modern art. Other times, there are also some heavy forms with solid perfumes or the handy rollerballs due after exercising. It is clear that perfume comes on different packages. Does it mean they need to be applied in different ways?

Simply put, no. The right way to apply perfume is completely universal. Even though an atomizer might look different to that gorgeous perfume bottle, all fragrances should be applied on what are called Pulse Points. This also means if you love your Rollerball´s fragrance, you can also apply it the same exact way as you would apply regular perfume.

Pulse points are perfect for applying fragrances as they naturally produce heat. Heat, as you might have heard, helps activate the fragrance and makes it smoothly combine with the air. As per their name, pulse points are spots on your body where your pulse can be felt the most clearly as in your wrist and neck. The bonus tip here is that using your fragrance on your pulse points also allow it to last longer. You may always apply a fragrance on your clothes but it will not project in the same manner as it would if applied on the skin. If you like layering fragrances, you could even add a different fragrance on each of your pulse points.

Fragrance experts usually recommend to generally apply a base scent immediately after stepping out of the shower in the morning and accent it by adding complementary scents on some of the pulse points.

There are some thing to take into account nonetheless. Diffuser sprays tend to spread more perfume meaning you are likely to apply more. Also, your perfume´s packaging and formula are sometimes cause for how long it will last. The lasting time of solid perfumes depends on the fragrance, formula and concentration.

Try not to make the same mistakes no matter what type of perfume you prefer. We have all rub our wrists together after applying perfume but please stop! This actually reduces the perfumes wearing time. You should also be applying it on moisturized skin instead of dry as it enhances note absorption and scent retention.

Just go out and rock your fragrance!
